3D Modelling Technician (RC Detailing)

Start Date: w/c 6th January or 13th January 2025
Contract Duration: Initial 6-month period, with potential for extension
Work Pattern: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Notice Period: 1 week

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled 3D Modelling Technician to join our clients Knutsford office. This role focuses on RC detailing for reinforced concrete structures and steel frames. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and checking 3D models and drawings, ensuring high-quality outputs for key projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and review 3D models of RC frames, steel reinforcement, and heavy concrete structures.
- Use 3D software to chart and maneuver steel bars within concrete blocks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Oversee and quality-check drawings and models produced by team members using Tekla and other tools.
- Produce general arrangement (GA) drawings, sections, and details for reinforced concrete and steel frames.
- Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment with structural connections, load paths, and design specifications.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

- Strong experience in 3D modelling for structural/civil projects, particularly with reinforced concrete detailing.
- Proficiency in producing and checking GA drawings, steel reinforcement layouts, and temporary works designs.
- Familiarity with Tekla is preferred (training can be provided for candidates with general 3D modelling experience).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance in design and modelling.
- Excellent communication skills and a solution-focused approach.

Desirable Qualifications & Requirements

- Knowledge of RC reinforcement detailing and experience with heavy RC structures.
- Current DBS check and ability to pass BPSS security clearance (British nationals preferred).
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing.

- Company IT equipment will be supplied.

Additional Information

- This role is primarily office-based in Knutsford.
- Tekla experience is beneficial but not mandatory candidates with strong 3D modelling skills are encouraged to apply.
