Commissioning Engineer Role overview:
Main purpose of the role:
To support the Commissioning Manager, while being a member of a multi-disciplined team to carry out testing activities in a safe and effective manner while following Commissioning standards.
The role will be around 5% office based at Woodside House and 95% site based (which will include meeting suppliers at offsite locations)
To work with and provide support personnel involved in other teams within the Client’s team.
Key responsibilities as a Commissioning Engineer.
• Safely carry out all commissioning testing activities throughout all stages of commissioning.
• Identification of installation and design faults and the ability to propose and implement solutions.
• Lead commissioning delivery with a “Design to Commission” vision
• Production of commissioning test documentation.
• Ability to be a Nominated Person (Electrical, Control System, Mechanical).
• Carry out Pre-Commissioning inspections.
• Demonstration of Plant knowledge.
• Initiation and implementation of Fault Records / Technical Queries.
• Application of Temporary Commissioning Aids.
• Witnessing of Test Activities.
• Produce Commissioning Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Produce and deliver Training Plans and Training Mauals.
• Review any client focused documentation.
• Act as delegate to Commissioning Manager to review/accept mechanical completion packages from construction and review/offer system handover packages to operations.
• To achieve accurate recording of test results in an auditable manner to satisfy internal and external auditors.
• To comply with the Commissioning Framework & Supporting Procedures.
• Attend HAZOP and HAZCOM meetings as required.
• Represent the Team Commissioning Meetings with the end Client.
• Keep Commissioning Documentation up to date throughout the Project.
• Keep daily records of Commissioning activities.

HSE
To work alongside other members of the Project Management teams to
• Always demonstrate personal HSE leadership and excellent HSE behaviours and ensure that safety expectations are communicated and maintained. Perform as a safety leader through, setting and exhibiting the highest standards.
• Candidate will be required to intervene or have appropriate conversations with staff members around safe work practices if required.
• Shall notify staff of all unsafe acts, near misses and incidents.
• Lead by example with regards to company’s HSE policy.
Planning
Review engineering design and provide comments toward “commission ability”
• Work with the planner and Project teams to provide an appropriate commissioning resource plan.
