We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of plant and equipment to prevent breakdowns and failures. The focus is on adopting a proactive maintenance approach to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain plant and equipment to prevent breakdowns, conducting regular inspections and replacements before delays or failures occur.

Perform welding and fabrication tasks to a high standard.

Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement improvements to operations.

Maintain and promote health and safety rules and regulations, following company procedures including LOTO, PUWER, WAH, COSHH, LOLER, and other relevant codes of practice.

Challenge unsafe conditions and practices, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

Operate and maintain mechanical systems, including drives, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and conveyors.

Conduct emergency breakdown repairs in a timely and efficient manner.

Take ownership of small-scale projects and deliver results in a proactive and cost-conscious manner.

Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to ensure effective maintenance practices.

Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to address repeat failures and improve the engineering function.

Complete daily plant inspections using the AAA Maintenance app and ensure equipment is clean and operates at maximum efficiency.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.

Strong knowledge of mechanical systems such as drives, motors, belts, pumps, and gearboxes.

Welding and fabrication skills to a high standard.

Familiarity with safety regulations including LOTO, PUWER, WAH, COSHH, LOLER, and Guarding Regulations.

Ability to work in confined spaces and at height when required.

Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to perform emergency repairs and preventive maintenance effectively.

A proactive approach to continuous improvement and cost-effective maintenance activities.
