Process Design Engineer
Location: Cookstown
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per annum plus package
Type: Full Time – Permanent (Hybrid)

We are seeking an ambitious Process Design Engineer to join an established design team & support the planning & delivery of process design of water and wastewater treatment projects. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of water and water processes with a genuine passion for developing innovative solutions.

Responsibilities
• Prepare process flow diagrams, mass balance calculations, and unit process sizing to enhance the efficiency of treatment plant operations.
• Develop P&IDs, process control strategies, and hydraulic design calculations (for both gravity-fed and pumped systems) to support detailed specifications and safety assessments.
• Act as a key representative in HAZOP sessions and design reviews, collaborating effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
• Produce comprehensive technical documents, including process narratives, analysis reports, and user manuals.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant solutions.
• Coordinate with senior engineering professionals and project leads to fulfil project specifications and client expectations.
• Identify and troubleshoot process inefficiencies, providing actionable recommendations to improve operational outcomes.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of technological advancements and industry innovations in water and wastewater systems.

What we require from you
• 5 years’ experience in process engineering ideally in water or wastewater
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical/Process Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Membership of a recognised professional body or working towards CEng status
• Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy-efficient technologies in water treatment.
• Innovative minded professional with fresh ideas
