Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience)

On behalf of our client, a reputable brickwork and stonemasonry subcontractor based in Wakefield, we are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The company is known for delivering high-quality masonry solutions across various construction projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a strong background in brickwork to lead and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the cost estimation and budgeting processes for brickwork and stonemasonry projects
  • Conduct thorough quantity take-offs from architectural drawings and specifications
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive tender documentation
  • Measure and value variations, ensuring accurate financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide expert cost advice and financial forecasts to the project team and senior management
  • Monitor project progress and deliver regular financial reports
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective cost control measures
  • Assist in the resolution of contractual and financial disputes
  • Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors within the team



Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with significant expertise in the brickwork or stonemasonry sector
  • Strong understanding of masonry materials, construction methods, and associated costs
  • In-depth knowledge of quantity surveying techniques, including estimating, cost management, and valuation
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, estimating tools)
