Highway Maintenance Supervisor

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Highway Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and coordinate all logistical operations for multiple major maintenance contracts. The role focuses on ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and safety of these contracts, through meticulous planning and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistical Coordination: Organize and manage logistical operations for major maintenance contracts, ensuring smooth and safe execution.
Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with Autolink and other organizations to facilitate inspections, maintenance, and upgrades, including coordinating with structures inspections and maintenance schemes.
Project Supervision: Manage and supervise various work packages based on project needs, which may include nightshift and/or weekend work.

Specific Duties Include:

Documentation and Compliance:

Develop and implement Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Ensure all subcontractors possess up-to-date, relevant CSCS and CPCS cards.
Implement and adhere to ITPs, ensuring all checks are completed and documented.
Site Management:

Conduct site reviews prior to the commencement of work packages.
Actively participate in project start-up and progress meetings, ensuring familiarity with the scope of work.
Manage subcontractors in line with CMS requirements and ensure timely documentation and action of meeting minutes.
Liaison and Coordination:

Assist in communications with Employer’s Agents, Statutory Undertakers, Emergency Services, and other relevant parties.
Coordinate traffic management requirements with the Network Manager.
Coordinate plant and labor needs with the Works Manager and material provisions with the Office Manager and Senior Quantity Surveyor.
Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with COSHH regulations and manage confined space works under the “Permit to Work” scheme.
Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including the proper supervision of major maintenance works for staff and public safety.
Record Keeping and Reporting:

Maintain high standards of diary records and ensure timely uploading of documentation.
Ensure accurate weekly labor returns and daily submission of Actual Lane Occupation forms from subcontractors.
Report program concerns and quality issues promptly, documenting in diary sheets and Non-Conformance Records as needed.
Continuous Improvement:

Participate in Lessons Learned workshops, weekly HSW inspections, and monthly Sustainability inspections.
Contribute to targeted reviews for continuous improvement of work activities.
Maintain and ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of vehicle livery and driver logbooks.
Health and Safety:

Ensure immediate reporting and rectification of any Health and Safety breaches, stopping work as necessary and completing relevant documentation.
Qualifications:

Experience in highway maintenance and supervision.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations and compliance.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work packages effectively.
