Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Wakefield
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £50,000 - £75,000 per annum + company car + benefits package

Overview:
On behalf of a well-established construction company specialising in the development of care homes, we are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Wakefield. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional looking to take on a leadership role within a growing sector.

Role Overview:
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take the lead on managing the financial performance of large-scale care home projects. You will be responsible for overseeing cost management, contractual agreements, financial risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with the JCT form of contract. This position requires a willingness to travel to Sussex and/or London at least twice a month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the financial management of care home construction projects from start to finish
  • Manage budgets, ensure contract compliance, and control project costs
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, management, and site inspections
  • Certify contract payments and variations with a high level of accuracy
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to safeguard project success
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction
  • Provide comprehensive financial reporting and updates on project performance


Skills & Experience Required:

  • Extensive knowledge of the JCT form of contract
  • Strong experience working with main contracts (desirable)
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale projects with complex financial requirements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with cost management software


Qualifications & Certifications:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (desirable)
  • Professional membership (desirable)
