NEW ROLE - Assistant Estimator - £25k - £45k (depending on experience) + full package - Large Building projects - Based in Manchester
Manchester based office / North West based projects
The client
An established regional based main contractor are looking for an Project Estimator to join their established team. Theyre looking for an Estimator with a main contracting / general construction background.This is a truly exciting opportunity to work on various large tenders and projects. Projects include some (but not all) new build rise (hotels, apartments, student accommodation etc). The tender values will vary between £15 and £50 million. This role as an exciting opportunity and offers the potential for progression to Senior Estimator and beyond. My client are both an established and growing business. This is a fantastic opportunity, the successful candidate would be vital to the continuing growth of this exciting organisation.
Duties
Monitor potential incoming enquiries
Build relationships with Architects, Quantity Surveyors and Competitors
Maintain up-to-date market knowledge of labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
Prepare & send out sub-contract & material enquiries using conquest enquiry system
Where required produce accurate take-off using Conquest
Manage, as directed, enquiries for labour, plant, materials and sub-contractors
Price bills/schedules analytically and produce quote comparisons using conquest estimating software
Complete tender pricing for adjudication by the tender committee, including reporting on any risks or onerous conditions, providing a winning edge
Liaise with planner to assess programme & preliminaries
Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project.
On secured projects prepare information for handover to the contract team
Developing the companies estimating library
Check tender documentation
Measure tender against Decision Analysis
Inform Tender Committee on Contract Conditions
Essentials
Must have worked as a build estimator in a previous role
Must have some estimating software in a previous role (ideally ConQuest).

Hardworking and driven personality
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise own workload
Excellent attention to detail
Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively delegates as appropriate
